There are Christmas cards to address
cookies to finish baking
presents to wrap
rooms to clean
gifts to find
meals to make
friends to hug
little boys to snuggle
places to be
oh, the endless places to be ...
I find irony in the busyness during this time of year -- Advent, this season of waiting.
I half joke that Advent has too literally become a season of anticipated waiting ... waiting for the Christmas hustle to go and life to slow, return to normal pace.
All I really want to do is curl up on the couch, snuggle beneath a blanket, open my Bible and my journal and bask in the light of the Christmas tree
bask in the Light of Christmas
wait for the anticipated coming of celebration of a Savior
make more room for Him in this time
in this space
in these crowded and crunched days.
But I have promises to keep
and many {many many many many many} miles to go before I sleep.
